Bio
Marco Berton Scapinello was born in Rovigo in 1993 with a passion for cinema that he has nurtured since his youth. After completing classical studies, he moved to Bologna to pursue his education in the field of cinema.
In 2018, he directed his first short film titled "Drown" and later expand his skills in directing by moving to Denmark to attend the European Film College, where he graduated by making the film “Crossroads.”
Throughout his journey, Marco worked on various projects, including a feature-length documentary about the life and work of the forgotten Italian director Adolfo Baruffi. This doc has been selects in different film festival. He also contributed to several projects, such as music videos and commercials, showcasing his versatility. As a filmmaker, for smaller projects, he also takes care of editing.
In 2020, Marco further broadened his experience by working as a creative producer for productions in the Padua area. Here he collaborate in projects for brands like Mutti or Cisco. Since 2021, he has been a regular collaborator with Will Media, where he also directs some documentaries, including the series "Habitat," which he co-wrote with Matteo Caccia.
Marco works also an an analog photographer. He is currently in the pre-production phase of his autobiographical documentary "My Mother Has No Children." This project deals with the story of his adoption and represents an intimate and profound journey into his personal history. The documentary was co-written with Giorgia Malatrasi, the author of the docufilm "Searching Eva," adding another layer of experience and sensitivity to the project. Through "My Mother Has No Children," Marco aims to explore the complex themes of identity, family, and the search for one's roots.
